Tips For Electrical Items
Electrical items
- With so many electrical items in the average household these days it can get very confusing which lead goes with which. As you disconnect your TV, DVD, Sound System, computer and other electrical devices, label all of the leads before packing. This way when it come time to set them all back up again you will know where they belong.
- If you have a front loading washing machine it should have come with locking devise or nuts to hold the dum in place for the move. Ensure these are installed before your move as you machine may not function properly after the move if they are not.
- Empty your washing machine. The fact is when your washing machine pumps out at the end of a cycle a litre or more of water can remain in the machine and make a mess in the back of the removalist’s truck. To really empty the washing machine lay the hose flat on the floor with the end over a drain or out through the door and let the remaining water trickle out.
- Try to reduce the amount of food stuff in both your fridge and freezer in the lead up to your move and don’t unpack them til the very last minute. I like to put the fridge and freezer on last so that they are the first off. There is far less chance of food stuff becoming spoilt during the move this way. Let’s face it, one of the first things you may need at your new home will be a relaxing cuppa or a cold beverage.
